Dane County is implementing the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing (PRO Housing) initiative, funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The program aims to remove barriers to affordable housing, expand the housing supply, and support long-term housing affordability across Dane County.
Program Completion Deadline: September 30, 2030
Dane County has identified three key implementation areas to remove barriers and expand housing production across the county.
Zoning & Code Reform — $1,000,000.00
Support for 4–7 municipalities to adopt zoning, code, or policy changes that remove housing barriers.
Of the $3,300,000.00 Infrastructure & Multi-Family Affordable Housing Development, a total of $1,577,900.00 in CDBG PRO Housing infrastructure funding has already been allocated to support housing development.
